Moms And Their Superhero Powers

Moms are some of the strongest people in the world, without a doubt. Not necessarily strong in the way a bodybuilder might be, but in a way that can stop the world for a moment so they can let their child know that things will be okay. My mother helped guide me through the craziness of life since before I can even remember. Even after I moved out of my parents’ house, my mom has always been there for me to answer all of my life questions and surprise me with home-cooked meals. Needless to say, my mom is basically a superhero.
But she’s not the only superhero in the world. All across the globe, there are millions of moms with greater powers than the average human.

Here are some ways that Moms are actually real life superheroes:

Healing powers: Cuts, bruises, and other injuries are no match for the power of Mom-kisses.
Super Vision: Moms have the power to know exactly where their children are at and stop them from eating a Lincoln Log in the nick of time.
Supersonic Voice: With one word, she can keep her wild kids from getting too crazy without even raising her voice.
Travel at the Speed of Light: Moms can pretty much do the equivalent of three days’ worth of work in about 15 hours. It’s quite incredible to witness.
Hyper-Intelligence: For all my questions as a child, teen, and college student, my mom always has the answer. Help with homework? Relationship advice? How long should I cook ground beef? Existential crises? Never fear; moms are on the case!
Super Strength: No matter what life throws at us, Moms are there to give kind words, good food, and a warm hug. Nothing can get in the way of a mother’s love for her children.

I’m especially thankful that my Mom always pointed me toward the source of her strength: God. Because of her love and care for me for all those years, I’ve been able to understand God’s love for me, too.
This Mothers’ Day, let’s celebrate the superheroes our world needs: Moms!
