3 Grilling Tips for Fourth of July

It is almost Independence Day and that means we have an excuse to grill all weekend!

If you are like me, grilling is the preferred method of cooking but not always the most convenient. Thats is why this weekend is the perfect time to invest a little more time and effort towards good eats.
Here are a few tips for grilling up the best food of your life.

Tools you will need:
A Grill
For a charcoal grill this little guy is a must have to get the coals going
Standard charcoal
The standard grilling tools
Some good meat

TIP #1 Use Salt:
For steaks, cover your meat with large grain salt for about 50 minutes before you throw it on the grill. Before you toss it on, wipe off the excess salt and water, then grill away. This can turn a $5 steak into the $50 one, trust me.

For chicken, create a brine with salt and herbs and keep your meat in that for about an hour before grilling.
These methods are scientifically proven to make the meat juicier and more tender.

TIP #2 Get That Grill Hot:
It is important to get that grill hot before cooking. A good rule of thumb is 400-450°F for high, 350-400°F for medium-high, 300-350°F for medium and 250-300°F for low heat. You want to sear the meat and create some good carmelization.

TIP #3 Let It Rest
After you get the meat to the desired level of doneness, let your meat rest for a few minutes before eating. This allows the juices to flow back inside.

**BONUS TIP**
Grilling is not just for meats. Grill up some veggies or make some pizzas. The possibilities are endless.

Have a great 4th of July!
