"I Had Permission"
This will turn positive. I promise. But it’s gonna start this way: Popular cesspools. Ready? Go!
I’ll start… Facebook. Twitter. The internet in general.
So you get the idea. BUT, there are ways some of these areas get redeemed. For example, occasionally Hollywood will put out a movie with religious undertones or something along those lines towards Jesus, towards Christianity.
That situation happened with actor, Shia LaBeouf. (BTW, this is not an endorsement of him. I have no clue what his life is like right now. Regardless of where he is in this moment, I’m not here to judge it.)
He said something after filming a movie where he was playing a priest, and his words really stuck out to me because it’s so true in regular, real, everyday. He says, as he was playing this part, he embraced a new life with Jesus.
He started to understand the lines he was saying, the role he was playing, is actually real. There’s something here. He said, “I was seeing other people who have sinned beyond anything I could ever think of who are being found in Jesus. It made me feel like, ‘oh, that, that gives me hope because I know who I am.’ I started hearing experiences of other depraved people like you and me who have found their way in this. And it made me feel like I had permission.”
Have you ever felt like you needed permission to approach God? I think we’ve been there before. And if that’s you, then right here and right now, I’m opening the door. It’s not really mine to open, but I want you to know it’s open. You don’t need any other permission than this. Jesus died for you. And he invites you to follow him.
John 1:12 – But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
