Three years ago Anne was thinking about ending her life, but in a moment, everything changed:
“I had a medical condition that removed all movement from my arm. I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t dress myself. Any movement was excruciatingly painful. Medication didn’t help. Through the pain, and lack of sleep I found myself wondering if it was worth it. I never thought I’d be a person to think this, but one day when I was driving, I thought, “I could just drive my car right off the road.” It was that bad.
I had The River on in the background and at that moment the song Overcomer by Mandisa came on. It changed everything. I knew at that point that God would never give me more than I can handle. If it weren’t for The River, that song, at that time, who knows what would have happened to me.”
Last year, for the first time she donated $2,000 to The River Challenge Fund:
“I just want to make sure that others have the opportunity to listen. Some people can’t get out to fellowship with others, or can’t go to church. The River may be the only way that they can fellowship. With a matching gift, I am helping more people get that message. I experienced the perfect song at just the right time and I want other people to have the opportunity for the same experience. I want to make sure that everybody has the opportunity to be saved.”
