Finding Purpose In The Eyes Of A Little One

Sure, life can be unpredictable at times, but when you’re a parent, it seems like life is ALWAYS unpredictable.

Pre-kids, you have a pretty set schedule and a decent amount of control when it comes to your day. Post-kids, be prepared to throw your schedule right out the window.

You go from getting 7 to maybe even 8 hours of sleep—WHAT?!— to a baby who decides it’s party time at 2am AND WON’T GO BACK TO SLEEP!  I’ve found myself starting my day off in a fog that no amount of coffee can remedy and have to force myself to put one foot in front of the other no matter how insanely tired I am. If I’m lucky enough, I sometimes even leave the house without some type of bodily fluid on my clothes…or in my hair.  With that said, it’s weird to think that every second of that chaos is totally worth it. This little person has flipped my world upside down. He puts me in situations I never imagined possible, but I’m finding my purpose and meaning in this parenting role. One simple laugh, smile, hug or hearing him utter his first word, captures my heart like nothing else in this world.

Any advice for a new mom or a special memory you’d like share? Just add it in the comments section below.
