Is the End Near?

I’ve had many close calls in life, and this weekend my family experienced another.

As we were trying to pull into a gas station, an out-of-control black sports car was coming straight at us – 90mph with tires smoking – and police were in hot pursuit.  In a fraction of a second the young driver was able to quickly maneuver his car to the left side of us, barely missing our vehicle.

It was downright scary, and to say the least, we were quite shaky afterwards and profusely thanking God for His protection.  What happened in the moments before the possible impact will always stick with me.  As the car was barreling towards us, I spoke the name of Jesus out loud several times, and in my mind’s eye I saw the flash of a picture of our car being hit head on and all of us going up into heaven.  It was a moment I’ll never forget.

This very vivid picture quickly reminded me of the frailty of life, the meaninglessness of stuff and things, and the importance of family and our relationship with Jesus.

I simply want to encourage you to think about where you will go after you pass away from this life, which could be at any moment – just ask your local funeral director how many people they conduct services for who have passed away unexpectedly.

If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your savior, there is a simple way to do that according to Romans 10:9-10.

“If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”

If you make that most important, life changing decision, I’d sure love to hear from you:  LChase@RiverRadio.com
