This -or- That: Tailgate Food for the Big Game

big-game-tailgate-food-football-party-foodI don’t need an excuse to cook – but in case I did, there’s a big championship football game coming up.

Game time snacks are not always of the healthy kind, and that’s okay sometimes. But when I started experiencing options for healthier snacking, I found there are some viable alternatives that keep the whole family happy (even if their team isn’t winning!)

To keep things interesting I’ve gathered some of the most popular game day indulgences along with some healthier option for that same snack. My hope is that even swapping one of these for the healthier option will make you, and your critics, excited to try more next time!

This – or – That | The Big Game Edition

Mozzarella Sticks  – or –  Baked Mozzarella Sticks

Buffalo Chicken Dip  – or –  Skinny Buffalo Chicken Dip

Potato Skins – or – Healthy Sweet Potato Skins

Game Day Sliders – or – Two Bite Turkey Sliders

Loaded Nachos – or – Loaded Healthy Nachos

Homemade Mac’n’Cheese – or – Butternut Squash Mac’n’Cheese

The Extra Point: Chocolate Covered Strawberry Footballs & Cinnamon Sugared Pecans

So there ya have it! Classic game day food with a twist. Try a couple of the healthy versions – I promise you won’t regret it!

Go Browns! (errr…well I guess there’s always next year.)
