Lifestyle Change over New Year’s Resolution

new-years-resolution-healthy-lifestyleEver year around January the gym is beyond packed for the first couple of days with all of the people and their resolutions of getting into shape. Slowly but surely the gym goes back to normal as people forget about or give up on their resolution.

This year I challenge you not to make a New Year’s resolution that you are going to get in shape, but to make a commitment to an entire lifestyle change that goes beyond January. If you’ve already committed to it but have slipped off the wagon a bit, now is the time to recommit yourself.

Maybe you’re nervous or scared about getting started. Make a small step towards that commitment right now. Find some positive reinforcement to plug into, whether that be a friend or family member, maybe a book, or some videos on YouTube.

My friend Nicole who is also a personal trainer says “You have to keep the positivity flowing throughout your entire journey.” Her recommendation is to do daily affirmations, look into the mirror, and have a conversation with yourself and tell yourself how worthy you are!

You are worthy! You are worthy of accomplishing all your fitness goals and feeling good about yourself. You are worthy of more than you think. Now is the time. Run over to that mirror right now and say “I am worthy, and I’m going to do this. No more excuses.”
